Guacamole & Prosciutto Baguette Sandwich

Salty prosciutto meets fresh guacamole and pickled onions in this elevated baguette sandwich. It’s a 10-minute meal that tastes a lot more sophisticated than the effort suggests.


INGREDIENTS HIGHLIGHTS

Baguette (1/3 piece, end trimmed): Crisp on the outside, soft inside — the perfect canvas for a layered, flavorful sandwich.

Fresh Mozzarella (5 slices, more or less): Creamy, mild, and beautifully soft — adds that luscious, melty bite.

Olive Oil (drizzle): A silky, savory gloss that wakes up the bread and mozzarella.

Guacamole (1/4 cup): Rich, bright, and ultra‑creamy — the layer that ties everything together.

Prosciutto (2–3 slices): Salty, silky ribbons of flavor that bring depth and elegance.

Pickled Red Onions (5–6 slices): Tangy, vibrant pops of color and crunch.

Micro‑Arugula (1/4 cup): Peppery, fresh, and feather‑light — the perfect finishing lift.

Salt, Pepper, and/or Lemon Zest: A simple, bright trio that sharpens every bite.



HOW TO MAKE IT

Cut your piece of baguette lengthwise, so you have top and bottom pieces. Place both slices of bread on a baking sheet (cut side up). Layer the mozzarella onto the bottom slice and drizzle the top slice with olive oil. Broil for 2–3 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and the bread edges are golden brown.



ASSEMBLE THE SANDWICH

Spread the guacamole over the melted cheese. Evenly distribute the pickled onions, then drape the prosciutto over the top. Pile the micro-arugula over the prosciutto. Lightly drizzle the greens with olive oil and finish with a fresh grating of lemon zest.

Close the sandwich with the oiled bread slice, cut diagonally, and serve immediately.
