Ingredients
Instructions
- Slice the bread to open, keeping it connected at the back.
- Spread mayonnaise on the lower slice and mustard on the upper slice. Set the upper slice aside.
- Layer the deli meat onto the lower slice in quarters by flavor: ham, turkey, salami, roast beef
- Layer the cheese on top of the meat in this order to pair with meat accordingly: Swiss, smoked gouda, provolone, cheddar.
- Slice the heirloom tomatoes to about 1/4 inch. Layer over the cheese.
- Sprinkle the tomatoes with salt and pepper, to taste.
- Layer the sliced onions over the tomatoes. Then layer the pepperoncini (I used these by Mezzetta) over the onions.
- Drizzle olive oil over the pepperoncini topped sandwich.
- Top with the romaine lettuce and finally the upper pice of bread.
Notes
You can slice the sandwich in advance of your party (just before your party starts so the bread doesn't dry) or you can custom slice it to your friends' preferred size and flavor.
