Pork Ribs Night in the City
/Our apartment in San Francisco does not have an outdoor area where we can BBQ. This oven cooked version of BBQ ribs is perfect for city apartments. It’s easy and so tender and delicious!
Pull a long sheet of aluminum foil - a little longer than twice the length of the pan. After trimming and drying the ribs, set and season them on the foil covered cooking sheet.
Fold over the aluminum foil and seal. I try to keep a bit of a tent over the top of the ribs to protect the seasoning. Bake at 300 (f) for 3 hours.
Peel back the top layer of foil and cook for another 30 minutes. You can also brush BBQ sauce over the ribs at this point, but we prefer them dry rub.
Gently cut the ribs into servings and watch your guests feast!

Ingredients
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 300 (f)
- Trim excess fat and remove the membrane from the ribs. Pat dry with paper towels or a towel.
- Take a baking sheet and pull a long sheet of aluminum foil, a couple inches longer than twice the length of the baking sheet (later you will envelope the ribs in this -- see picture above). Open the foil to its full length and cover the pan with the first half of the foil.
- Set the ribs on the foil covering the pan. Lghtly season the underside of the ribs and generously season the top side. With the ribs top side up, gently fold over the foil and seal (do not press the foil to the meat). I try to keep a bit of a tent over the top of the ribs to protect the seasoning. See the picture above.
- Bake at 300 degrees for 3 hours.
- Optional step: For step 5, bake for 2.5 hrs. Then remove the ribs and carefully unfold and tear the top of the foil off. Brush the ribs with BBQ sauce and cook for another 1/2 hour. I prefer to serve the ribs dry and serve with a bowl of BBQ sauce for dipping.
